Red Bull X-Fighters returns to U.S. soil after two years of globetrotting, with visits to locations such as the Pyramids of Giza and Red Square in Moscow, and will host the second stop of the 2012 World Tour. The Historic Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas hosted the event in 2008 and 2009, and now the 2012 stop in Southern California will bring the world’s most-progressive freestyle motocross series to the ancestral home of motocross for the first time ever with its stop at Glen Helen Raceway on May 12.
Established in 1985, Glen Helen Raceway has hosted several sand drag and motocross events and has been a regular stop of the U.S. Pro Motocross Championships. It has also twice hosted the US stop of the FIM MX GP World Championship. With its rich motocross history, the iconic venue is ideal for the Red Bull X-Fighters tour. The event will feature the biggest FMX course ever, giving the world’s best riders multiple opportunities to impress the judges and thrill the crowd in their runs.
Created in 2000, Red Bull X-Fighters has grown to become the biggest and most respected freestyle motocross tour on the planet, featuring the world’s best riders throwing down the most progressive tricks in stunning locations around the world. The riders are set to step it up once again and push the sport forward as they return to Dubai, Madrid and Sydney and visit new the locations of Istanbul, Southern California and Munich to thrill the thousands of fans at each stop.
